Every month we spotlight a woman entrepreneur in our network — her journey, her products, the lessons learned and what she’s building next.
Robbinah runs the Kayunga Women Integrated Development Association — a cooperative of 40+ women farmers producing and processing value-added grain and honey products for local and regional markets.
Before joining CWEN in 2019, the cooperative was selling unbranded bulk produce at farm-gate prices. Within 18 months of joining Women on the Shelf, they had relaunched with professional packaging, gained retail space in two supermarket chains, and tripled their per-unit margin.
Robbinah credits the network as much as the program: “The mentorship, the buyer introductions, the fact that someone picks up the phone — that is what changes a business.”
Today the cooperative employs 12 women full-time in processing and packaging, supplies four retail chains, and is preparing for its first export order to Kenya.
“Working with CWEN is one of the best decisions we've ever made. Our business is where it's at today, thanks to networking with CWEN.”
